Measure with fields from two different tables
I have a mapping table of Assignment group, Owner and Service.
Then there are two other tables, Incidents and Requests. These tables contain Assignment group in both.
I am doing a count of total Incidents and total Requests and put them into a new table so that i have an overall total but i need to be able to split it by Assignment group. This new table has no relationship as it only has totals of total Incidents +total Requests. I need to be able to click on assignment group slicer and these totals are split.
Anonymous I dont think you need to create new table instead create two measures, assuming request and incident table has relationship with mapping table on assignment group
Total Incident = COUNTROWS( Incident ) Total Requests = COUNTROWS( Requests )
Now put above measures in a visual like table and put assignment group as slicer, based on slicer, the totals will change
Anonymous that's fine, you can sum up those measure together by creating another measure or do everything in one measure.
Total = [Total Incident] + [Total Request]

But if i wanted to show total = total requests + total incidents as an overall figure? Then slice it?
Yes there is a relationship of assignment group

Total = [Total Incident] + [Total Request]
