I am trying to use the SUM of a column in a calculation for another value. I am using the measure below to calculate the sum of the column.
Measure =
VAR selectedYear = SELECTEDVALUE(SampleData[Reporting year])
RETURN CALCULATE(SUM(SampleData[Total Area]),Filter(SampleData, SampleData[Reporting year]=selectedYear))
This works, until I veiw it with the rest of the data in a Table Visual. It is then broken down to its componet values again, as shown in the screenshot. However, a table with just the Measure shown, the correct value is show, and not broken into component values. I would like the 34666 value to be shown on each line, or at least be useable for other calculations.

@MichaelRensing Try this:
Measure =
VAR selectedYear = SELECTEDVALUE(SampleData[Reporting year])
RETURN CALCULATE(SUM(SampleData[Total Area]),Filter(ALL(SampleData), SampleData[Reporting year]=selectedYear))
Thank you. That did it.
@MichaelRensing Try this:
Measure =
VAR selectedYear = SELECTEDVALUE(SampleData[Reporting year])
RETURN CALCULATE(SUM(SampleData[Total Area]),Filter(ALL(SampleData), SampleData[Reporting year]=selectedYear))
