Hey everyone - wondering if this is a bug in the software or if I'm making an error.
So we're using Azure AS tabular model with a live connection to PowerBI. Within Azure AS, we've used Calculation Groups for Time Intelligence. I have ensured that the underlying base measure is formatted as a currency and the format strings for the calculation items are correct. These are obeyed when displaying the measure as a table/matrix in PowerBI. However, it isn't obeyed when I display it as a visual (eg bar char). Instead, the measure gets converted to a decimal and is displayed.
The same behaviour is experienced when I reference an item from the calculation group i.e.
Measure = CALCULATE([Base Measure],'Time Intelligence'[Delta]="YoY %") gets displayed as % in matrix/table but as decimal in visuals.
Is this the expected behaviour? Or is this a software bug?
Create measure at tabular model side and format it to currency.
Incase if you have written measure at power BI side you have to click on measure and format it in modelling tab.
Note: Power BI side formatted measure will not obey formatting when you export your data to excel.
Hence it is recommended to make formatting at tabular model.

Hey - so yes the measures have been created and formatted in Analysis Services.
Upon testing this I found that Measures created in PowerBI OBEY formatting rules where as AAS measures don't do this. Is this the behaviour you're experiencing as well?
