I knooooow, I know there is this limit that we cannot sort the values if we have columns in Matrix Table.
Buuuut I am desperate to know if there are any workaround to sort the values according to the user. So if the user wants to sort the deposits in Sep 2024, he will just click the deposits header and it will sort.
And same for other values like Withdrawal and NMI depending on the month they want to sort it.
If I remove the month, no issue, I can sort them. But the requirement is to sort according to their needs where the month is present.
Hi @mussaenda
As Sergii24 noted, this is not currently supported in Power BI. Other users have found it and have submitted ideas to Microsoft. If this is important to you please consider voting for an existing idea or raising a new one.
Please refer to:
Matrix - Sort rows by value (asc or desc)
Ability to sort in Matrix when using Rows, Columns and a Value

Would be great to have something similar, @mussaenda! As of my knowledge, unfortunately, there is no a simple workaround to achieve the desired result...
Still hoping that they will have this feature soon. Thanks for the input @Sergii24
Change the Row total computation to include only September data. Sort by the Row Total.
Hi @lbendlin ,
Thanks for the suggestion. But that's the thing, they don't want to limit it to September only. It should be according to their choice.
If they want to sort the Deposits in Aug, they should be able to sort it. If they want to sor the NMI in July, they should be able to sort it.
One workaround I did before was manually adding each column by month i.e. Deposit - September, Withdrawal - September and so on.. But it takes effort and time to always add new columns if there will be new month.
I have this exact same use case I need solved. Subscribing to the thread in hopes of an answer!
Thanks @mussaenda you saved me from posting my own question 🙂
