Matrix hierarchy layout

Hi Everyone,

* I am trying to create a matrix that includes values of "Tonnes Actual" and " $/T" (dollar per tonne).

* Figure 1 shows how power bi displays both values through the months of the year.

* Figure 2 is how I actually want the data to display through the months of the year - "Tonnes Actual" through the year followed by "$/T" through the year.

* How do I get power bi to display my data according to Figure 2 please? At the moment, I am creating a measure for each of the values for each of the months, which seems inefficient and unprofessional.

Any advice or alternative workaround would be greatly appreciated.

kind regards,

Arnie

Hi @arnie ,

Use a disconnected table and a conditional formula to return the desired calculation based on the value in the  disconnected table. Please see attached pbix for reference.

@arnie , if you want the measure above, you need to create a calculation group and use that in visual

Calculation Groups- Measure Slicer, Measure Header Grouping, Measure to dimension conversion. Complex Table display: https://youtu.be/qMNv67P8Go0

You now create them in Power bi desktop

Model explorer public preview with calculation group authoring| Measure Slicer: https://youtu.be/VfxfJJ0RzvU

Hi Amit, thanks for that but it doesn't solve my query. I need the MMM-YY on the columns, not the rows.

I don't need my measures to be in a slicer. Your video shows how to set up MTD, QTD, YTD, which is not relevant to what I asked for.
