Hello everyone,
I am experiencing the following problem.
Each month I check, whether all teams within my organization have completed a specific task. I have constructed a report that allows me to keep track of that with the help of a table visualization (see below).
As I have more than 200 teams to take care of, I decided that I no longer want to contact the teamlead, but their department head (=> a higher level) while still being able to track all the team's status on whether they completed the task or not. Please find attached a first try with the help of a matrix visualization.
Also attached is a sample of raw data that I use to construct the report. ( in addition to the Confirmed Status TRUE/FALSE, I have the same info as 0/1 for conditional formatting)
ID | DEPARTMENT | TEAM_IDENTIFIER | IS_CONFIRMED | IS_CONFIRMED_01 |
3 | ADBY2 | ADBY200 | False | 0 |
5 | ADBY2 | ADBY211 | False | 0 |
6 | ADBY2 | ADBY212 | True | 1 |
7 | ADBY2 | ADBY213 | False | 0 |
8 | ADBY2 | ADBY214 | False | 0 |
10 | ADBY2 | ADBY220 | False | 0 |
13 | ADBY2 | ADBY2210 | False | 0 |
15 | ADBY2 | ADBY2211 | False | 0 |
So far my first attempt is working fine for me on team level (e.g. ADBY200), through conditional formatting I can keep track of the status for each team quite well. However, on department level (e.g. ADBY2) I cannot make conditional formatting work.
On this level I would like to see what percentage of the department's teams have completed the task. I come very close to the percentage when I set the values of the matrix to average instead of sum or count. Nevertheless, conditional formatting does not work and I would like to see 14% instead of 0.14 here.
Is there anything I am doing wrong? Any help (and also alternative approaches) are more than welcome!
Thanks in advance and kind regards!
Marcel
Solved! Go to Solution.
You can't have conditional formatting on multiple scopes.
You can create custom matrix visuals based on separate measures, and then have different conditional formats for these.
Hi @marcel97 ,
Agree with lbendlin .
In a table, you can add conditional formatting by clicking on the arrow next to the measure in the Values section. Then click Conditional Formatting -> Background Color. This will open the settings menu where one can configure the formatting rules.

Hello all,
Thanks a lot to @lbendlin @Anonymous for your answers! I applied conditional formatting to values and headings and it worked indeed.
All the best
Marcel
