Matrix Table with Field Parameters

Hello,

I created two field parameters. One is a group of regional type categories, the second field parameter is a group of date period columns (Year, QtrYear, MonthYear) from a date table.

Matrix table setup:

Rows = Regional field parameters

Columns = Time intelligence field parameters

Values = Total Sales measure

When i use the slicer for rows. the categories switch without issue. However the values display as a total sum by row, no matter what i select from the columns slicer (year, Qtr or month) it does not split out the columns as to what i have selected.

I know i can add each field to the columns indepentently and the User can change using the header icon arrows. But I thought using the field parameters feature would make it easier for my non-techy report consumers. Is it possible to do this with field parameters?

Thanks in advance for your help,

Mark

hI @Mark_Ball ,

Have you enable this option in your matrix visual?

Thank you! This really helped me!

Hi Danextian,

I tried what you suggested, and initially it didn't work. BUT in trying to troubleshoot why your suggestion wasn't working, I removed the field parameter from my matrix table visual and brought that field back and it magically started working. So a big thanks for the help!!
