Is it possible to use pivot table style functions in a matrix? For example, the ability to expand/collapse fields so that data can be looked at in aggregate or in more detail. If a matrix cannot do this on it's own, is there a similar function available through some sort of subreports or a custome addon? I am currently using a powerpivot workbook for a report, but am looking to move to power BI for reporting for mostly aesthetic reasons, but also because the gateway functionality would make it a bit easier to update reports on our sharepoint.
I am not aware of the functionality to expand and collapse rows in a Matrix visualization. Would be nice. Ideas. Probably already in there somewhere I imagine.
Here is the idea for adding collapse and expand functionality to the matrix visualization. I just gave it some votes. It would be really nice to have since people are use to this functionality in pivot tables.
Agree. I voted on that a while ago. In fact, I also voted on filters having the same function.
Hope it happens.
Regards,
Daniel
At this point, since the visualizations are available github and open sourced, I am poking around trying to see if I can add expand/collapse for the matrix. Wish me luck.
