Hi,
I am looking to be able to make columns in my matrix disappear when they are not selected in the slicer but it seems the data just disappears and the column remains but is blank. I have had to create the column calculations within the "values" section as if I use the "Columns" section then I am unable to use individual formatting as is required per metric. Are there any workarounds I can use in order to make the columns disappear if they are not selected within the slicer?
I've attached the image below, the top is how it looks unfiltered and the bottom image is how it looks when filtered to a single metric, I would like to make it so that instead of the blank metrics showing as such, instead they disappear and I am just left with the one selected metric column.
Many Thanks,

Hi @petergarry111 ,
If you are using Matrix visual, only need to put the "parameter" into the Values :

Thanks for going to this effort, it's amazing and it does seem on your images (As long as I can conditionally format each column individually) that it's worked but could you show me the full pane on the matrix? as it seems you have 'Date' and 'Parameter' within the columns section rather than having date in the rows section. I've tried it and it doesn't seem to work as I just get the following (Image below) I feel I need to keep the values as is in order to keep the conditional formatting for each individual metric.
Apologies if I misunderstood.. I am new to all this and appreciate the help so much!

Hi @petergarry111 ,
Agree with johnt75 , and here are the detailed steps:
Under Modeling > New parameter > Fields:
Select the fields or measures you want to put in:
Put the parameter into the table or matrix visual:
And the final output is as below:

Thanks for the response! Will give it a try and get back to you 🙂
You could try using a field parameter instead of individual measures. Add all your measures into the field parameter and add that to the matrix. When a user makes a selection in the slicer the matrix should show only those columns.
