Many to many due to granularity issue

Both tables cannot be changes

Table 1:

Postcode

District (partially no unique values)

City

Region

Table 2:

District (partally no unique values)

City

Region

More fields

Connecting them creates many-to-many which is not to worm with, as already known.

Please your wisdom as for a solution.

Best

Liam

Hi,

A many-to-many relationship is not recommended because it introduces ambiguity due to the lack of unique values and creates confusion in knowing which column of values is referring to what.

So, to create indirect relationship among both the tables using other dimensions table if present.

Thank You
