Hi there 🙂
I would like to provide users with a semantic model so that they can create their own reports.
The available columns are automatically sorted by Power BI in alphabetical order. However, this makes it difficult to get an overview. (Here is a simple example)
I have tried to change the columns in the query editor
but unfortunately they are still displayed in alphabetical order in the data pane afterwards.
Is there a way to sort these columns myself?

@Bodo , As of now Table view, does not follow the order of columns in Power query (In case you change it, it might not get reflected in the Table View)

Hi @Bodo
As @amitchandak there is no other options if you want users to be with "developer" options of creating.
Alternatives are to give them the visuals and use field parameters...from the UX.

Hi @Bodo
I don't think that there is another option to sort the fields.
May be as an alternative if it is so critical try to add the letter for sorting before the field name.
Something like
A.field 1
B. field 2
.
.
.

Thanks @Ritaf1983
Unfortunately that is not an option, because that would mean that every time we update and add new columns, we would have to rename all the existing columns again to get the new order (and we have a lot of columns in the model).
That would not be practical at all.
Thanks again for your reply,
Bodo
