Manual Calculation

In Excel, we can change the "Calculation Option" from Automatic to Manual, so that it is not processing while we are writing additional formulas.

Is there a similar setting in PBI Desktop, so I can pause processing while I write my next DAX expression?

Hi @fcerullo ,

 Maybe take a look at Tabular Editor. You can create a bunch of measures, then update and save the model once you are finished.

Power BI Desktop updates the model each time you create a new measure which is why it is slow a lot of the time when creating new measures.
