Manage visuals outside Pbix

I recently saw a demo from a youtube channel 'Drop Materialized View'. It's worth exploring more on top of what's been shared in this video.

Power BI lets you change only the pbip text files that Microsoft shows as editable, and there is no feature to move, resize, add, delete, or recolor visuals from outside Desktop.

The PBIP format allows report metadata to be saved as text-based files, enabling source control and some programmatic editing. However, Power BI currently does not support full report authoring outside of Power BI Desktop, such as adding or removing visuals, adjusting their layout, or handling all formatting via external JSON files.

Although certain report definition files can be edited directly, this is not recommended as a main development method due to the complexity of the schema and the risk of introducing issues with unsupported changes.

As a result, PBIP is best used for source control, collaboration, and deployment, rather than for complete report authoring through JSON.
