Make new INDEPENDENT data table from existing data table

Hi,

I have a data table that has many columns, and I need this table to stay as-is.

I want to create a new table that only contains two columns from this table.

Here is what I tired to do (in Power BI desktop):

1) From 'Modeling' tab, clicked 'New Table'.

2) In formula bar, typed  "Table = AX_TRANSACTIONS"

3) In the new table, delete all unwanted columns... but I can't! The option to delete is grayed out.

So how can I create this slimmed-down new table without affecting the original table? Surely there must be a simple (yet extremely non-intuitive) way to accomplish this task. O_o

You can use select columns to create a new table, or you can use Power Query
