Mailchimp integration

I'm trying to connect PowerBi to Mailchimp, followed all the requered steps as mentioned in https://datachant.com/mailchimp-power-bi/ . When it starts collection data it gives me this error. [ValidateMarkupTags][ccon]Expression.Error: The column '[ccon]Column1[/ccon]' of the table wasn't found.. [ccon]Column1[/ccon]. [/ccon]. The exception was raised by the IDbCommand interface. Table: Email Activity. I have no idea what it means and how to solve this. If anyobe does, please let me know. Thank you!

Hi @Anonymous ,

The error message you provided indicates that the column ‘Column1’ of the table wasn’t found. This error is usually caused by a mismatch between the column name in the query and the actual column name in the data source.
So here are the suggestions:
Check if the column name is spelled correctly.
Check if the column exists in the data source.

If you have already checked the column name and it still doesn’t work, you may want to try the following steps:
Check if there are some steps in Power Query that may destroy the original data structure.
Clear the data source cache in Power BI by going to Data Source Settings and clearing all permissions. Then recapture the permission again.

Hi @Anonymous As a workaround, maybe you can use a 3rd party connector, it can save you a lot of time compared to other options. I've tried windsor.ai, supermetrics and funnel.io. I stayed with windsor because it is much cheaper so just to let you know other options. In case you wonder, to make the connection first search for the Mailchimp connector in the data sources list:

MAILCHIMP-1.jpg

After that, you will have to first create a secret API key in your Mailchimp account and then using your credentials add your account to the platform.

MAILCHIMP-2.jpg

Once you’ve done this, you can proceed and go to the “Preview and destination” step

MAILCHIMP-3.jpg

There just select the fields you need. Finally, just select PBI as your data destination and finally just copy and paste the url on PBI --> Get Data --> Web --> Paste the url.
