M code - List.Min

Hi I'm trying to find the minimum date from a column which is in 'Date' datatype using M code List.Min function. But getting the below error. Please help.

 

Error:

Cannot convert to number.

This is just a simple text, you cannot return min / max for text. You may only right click remove errors for the date column first, then use List. MIN. List.Min - PowerQuery M | Microsoft Docs

Hello @AmudhaKumaran ,

 

check if your column is in the format Text.

If that is the case change it to a Number format in the step before.

Or you could also solve that in M:

 

List.Min(Number.FromText([myColum]))

Thanks for your reply. I have that column in Date format. While I tried to keep error in that column, I'm getting below. 

 

DataFormat.Error: We couldn't convert to Number.
