Looking for tutorials on how to export a link to a report with preselected filters

Hi everyone,

I am looking for ideas or useful links on how to send an email to users with a link to a report that includes different preselected filters. The priority is to find a way to do this in Power BI (maybe using the Subscribe to report feature?) without using Power Automate, if possible. Thanks.

Hi @Julia2023 ,

I think you can follow the steps below:

1. Using the Share Feature:
Open your report in Power BI. Apply the desired filters. Click on the “Share” button.
Select the option to “Include my changes” to ensure the filters are preserved in the shared link.

2. Using Bookmarks:
Create bookmarks in your report with the desired filters applied.
Share the report link with users, instructing them to use the bookmarks to view the filtered data.

3. Using the Subscribe Feature:
Users can subscribe to the report and receive email updates with the filtered view.
Set up the subscription by applying the filters and then subscribing to the report. This will send an email with a link to the report, including the applied filters.

So just as Wilson_ said, if you want to learn more, I think you can look at this document: Share a filtered Power BI report - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

Hi Julia,

Check out this page on filtering through URL query string parameters and this page on sharing filtered reports  from Microsoft's documentation and see if it helps.
