Hello,
Is there a way how to lock the position of a table/graph in Power BI? I dont want user to move with tables. Unintentionally, some users move tables by a misclick or when they try to scroll in Power BI...
Solved! Go to Solution.
I found a solution for editing mode, basically tick "read-only" in the properties of the file. It's not the best but it will force user/editors to save a copy of the original file.
To answer below champs, well we have a bit complicated system of publishing/exporting ,so that's why I was wondering if there is a smart why to restict moving table in Power BI.
Hi @poko ,
If you're concerned about users moving visuals while interacting with a report in the Power BI Service, it's worth noting that visuals are not draggable in the published version. Users can interact with the data (e.g., filters, slicers) but cannot move visuals unless they are editing the report.
Thank you you are right but some my users will have access in editing workspace... is there a way how to restrict in the editing mode?
Why would you allow users to edit a report in the service? It will be problem if somebody edits one and then saves it. If they want to edit the report, they can just save a copy of it instead of tinkering with what's been publishe.d

@poko No, you have to give those users workspace viewer permissions or ask them not to click on Edit button.

@poko User can't move the position of visuals unless he/she has edit access to the report or has workspace contributor permissions. So each time a user is misaligning a visual he/she is clicking on Edit option in service so inorder to avoid that give those users only workspace viewer permissions or read access to the report.
