Hello! I have multiple models that pretty much refuse to refresh locally. This issue started on 12/5. Previous to this, all of these models would work completely as expected and nothing was changed. I am not the only person in my organization to experince this, Having others test the same files they experince slow load times. We are talking hours of a refresh going to seemingly no progress. Meanwhile, the same file will refresh in the service in a matter of minuets. Not sure what to do at this point but it is really affecting my ability to work on reports and make changes as the issue persists even if making changes in power query.
These models are typically multi source, containing connections to other models, calculated tables, and sometimes import more queries/sharepoint documents etc.

@Builderguy327 hello,
Can you contact with IT Team to be sure that if there was any policy updates?
While you are talking with IT, can you download an older version from this link
https://learn.microsoft.com/tr-tr/power-bi/fundamentals/desktop-latest-update-archive?tabs=powerbi-d...
Also what is your capacity in Service?

@Builderguy327 What version of Desktop are you running? I can't think of anything specific that would have occurred on December 5th that would cause this. To the best of my knowledge there was no new version of Desktop that came out on that date. Perhaps your IT department deployed a newer version of Power BI Desktop to everyone in your company?
I checked with our BI administrator and he confirmed they did nothing on that date. Version is "2.149.1429.0 64-bit (November 2025)". Nothing visually changed with my version that day either it just seems to be the day that things started acting up. I have even uninstalled and reinstalled to check that as well.
