I've been using power bi with various connections with some fairly large datasets for sometime. One day, suddenly refreshing the model no longer worked and is stuck on "Loading data to model" - no error or timeout message, simply never-ending loading with no success.
I uninstalled power bi and reinstalled with the latest August 2021 version.
Applying changes, the data still cannot be loaded to the model with the simplest of tables and query. What is going on here? I have tried un-selecting options in Data Load with no success and clearing any caches. Any guidance would be much appreciated.
I am running windows 10 64-bit with VituralBoxVM
Hi @Anonymous - did you ever work out the root cause?
As an update to anyone with the same issue...
I've updated to the latest version but the issue remains. Support are looking into it.
I've also noticed that when hitting cancel, an error event is logged in the windows application log:
The description for Event ID 3 from source MSOLAP$AnalysisServicesWorkspace.... cannot be found.
The following information was included with the event:
OLE DB or ODBC error: Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040E4E.
The locale specific resource for the desired message is not present
Hi @Anonymous ,
Actually I could not reproduce your issue. The data could load fastly on my side.
And my PBI version is the latest version——2.96.901.0 64-bit (August 2021), which is released on 8/24/2021,please upgrade to this one and have a try again.
Best Regards,
Eyelyn Qin

@Anonymous Hard to say. You could check the Issues forum here:
