Link to an excel file

Hello,

one of my fellow users want to set a link (kinda like a url link) but that one would open an excel file locating on a local server.

So the usecase is to open an excel from a powerbi app by clicking on a link.

Would that be possible ?

Thank you claytun but no solution in there 🙂

I don't need to import or publish the excel file. My user want to click on "something" in Powerbi (a button or a simple link) and this get to open an excel file located on a local server.

wierdo thing is that i did try this solution, unsuccessfully but it seems to be the right thing to do. So thank you vm, i tag your answer as a solution as this is exactly what i want to perform.

Yes, they just released general URL support for buttons in the March update.
