Lingering Text in Slicer's Search Feature

Hi!

I just wanted to know if there's a way to automatically delete the lingering text in a slicer's search feature entry when the filter is closed. See the image, where the text "abb" stayed even after closing the filter and I am no longer in the search field. Thanks.Lingering Text in Search Box.png

Hi @PatrickGreen

Following @Ritaf1983's suggestion, here are some additional ways to tackle your issue.

Currently, Power BI does not have an automatic option to clear the text in a slicer's search bar when the slicer is closed. The search text will remain even after you close the slicer or click elsewhere, and it requires manual intervention to clear it by clicking the clear (eraser) icon or refreshing the slicer.

1)Automatic Page Refresh
Setting up a scheduled refresh for your Power BI Service report. This refresh won’t necessarily clear the search text,
but it can reset the slicer state in some cases, especially if you’re using dynamic slicers based on data.

2)Reset the Slicer Automatically with a Button:
Create a reset button that can reset all slicers to their default values, including clearing the search bar text.
This would be useful if you have multiple slicers and want to ensure a fresh state for the user.
Go to Insert > Buttons > Blank.
Add a Reset Action to clear all slicers when clicked.
Use a bookmark to capture the slicer state you want to return to (e.g., the initial state without any search text).

3)Use Clear Slicer in Interactions:
If want to clear the slicer as part of interaction settings (e.g., clearing a slicer when selecting a visual).
This requires configuring the edit Interactions feature where you can force slicers to reset after clicking on visuals.
