Line plot is cut off at right and left side (no connection to data points outside filtered range)

Hello,

I have on problem with plotting results in a line diagram in combination with a slicer.

These two pictures illustrate my problem:

slice2.png

The data resolution of the two graphs plotted here a different.

The dotted graph has a significant lower resolution (new data point around every 5 days) whereas the other graph has a resolution of 2 data points per day.

The problem is that in case I filter the data to zoom into a specific time period PBI cuts the data and does not connect the graph with data points outside the defined range.

E.g. in the first picture I plotted one week and the dotted line is only shown in the middle of the diagram. The connection to older or newer data points are missing.

Is there a possibility to change this format, that PBI also uses data points outside the filtered region to plot the graph?

Kind regards

bk

In the Format section of the Visualizations pane, expand the X axis card and change the Type option from Continuous to Categorical.

Is it possible for you to share .pbix file?

Thanks,

Hi @Pragati11 ,

thanks very much for the quick response.

Unfortunately, it would be quite difficult to share the PBI-file since the file contains confidential data.

However, I will try to create a reduced file.

Do you need the file to implement a solution?

Do you have an idea how to solve the problem?

Kind regards

bk

Hi @pbi_bk_2020 ,

Currently, I don't have anything in my mind like how this can be resolved. But it's worth checking what is happening in .pbix file.

Thanks,

Pragati
