I want to create a line chart which sums the monthly cost of a set of people, so monthly FTE costs. See a small sample of the dataset below. When I select the line chart visualization and set the month columns under values (sum) I am getting below picture. I want to see the month totals as seperate values on the X-avis like in this excel chart. (see both pictures below)
Obviously I am doing something wrong. Can anyone help?
How do you mean 'In a single column'? What would the dataset look like?
@Anonymous, I understand what you mean now. Dataset would look like below. That does provide a solution, but when you have a large sheet with many rows that is a lot of effort to transpose the table. In the original table there are also several other columns with data criteria. Surely there must be a way to achieve this without having to transpose the entire table?
Name | Amount | Month |
John | 3.548 | Jan |
John | 2.200 | Feb |
John | 1.000 | Mar |
John | 500 | Apr |
Larry | 2.754 | Jan |
Larry | 2.754 | Feb |
