I have sales in dollars, sales in units and sales per sq feet on stores from different territories. I want to create a line chart that shows the sum of these values per territory but which also has a line showing the grand total. I also want to be able to filter on these three different metrics in the same visual.
I know how to create a visual showing one of these metrics for all territories and the grand total by creating a individual DAX measure for each of the cases, and then dropping them in the y-axis field.
I also know how to create a metric filter to a visual by the new field parameter feature, or by the old school workaround with a metrics table and DAX measures.
My problem occurs when I try to do both of these in the same visual as the only way to get territory legends to a visual with a metric filter is to add territory to the legend field, but if I do this I can't have several items in the y-axis field.
Essentially the challange is to add a grand total line to this visual:

Help would be much appreciated!
Hi @Polarni01
Please refer to the discussion on the following link :

This is working with legend perfectly
In terms of data visualization, it is effective.
Labels should be placed on the line itself instead of the legend.
It simplifies the reading process for the reader because he doesn't have to play "ping pong" with a legend; all the data is displayed with lines, making reading more intuitive.

Hello Ritaf and thanks for your reply,
Unfortunately this cannot be combined with a metric filter that allows me to filter on what we measure on the y-axis (wages, age or height). With labels I was refering to the labels field in the visual builder, essentially I am concerned about getting totals and subtotals in the same visual while still being able to filter on metric, I am not concerned about where in the visual the country names appear.
It is difficult to understand what it is without seeing it.
Would you mind attaching an example of what you're trying to accomplish?
I have added a sample file now, and I also updated the text to fit the sample.
