LYTD Contiguous Issue

HI Team,

I created LYTD using SAMEPERIODLASTYEAR function, but it throws me the error as shown in below screenshot.
Then I changed the bi-drectional filter single it works but shows incorrect aggregation.

Can u please help me how to fix the LYTD calculation without chanaging the bi-directional filter to Single, I want it to be Both.

@sivashankr As a best practice, add date dimension in your model and use it for and time intelligence calculations. Once the date dimension is added, mark it as a date table on table tools.

And now use SAMEPERIODLASTYEAR using this date table.

@sivashankr , Can you share the formula. Hope you are using date from date table

Ideally, all the time intelligence functions will work with a continuous date. Now can of bi-directional date table is filtered from fact data. and may miss dates and time intelligence function will give an error

I resolved this by the below formula. Thanks a lot for taking your time to look into this.

CALCULATE (metric, SAMEPERIODLASTYEAR ( DATESYTD( 'CALENDAR'[Date],"31/7" ) ) )
