LASTDATE error A date column containing duplicate dates was specified in the call to function

I'm trying to obtain the inventory level with the measure:

Inventory = CALCULATE( MAX('Inventory'[Quantity]), LASTDATE('Inventory'[ExistenceDate]))

So, according to the documentation, I should get the value of [Quantity] on the last [ExistenceDate].

However, I'm getting the error:

 

Calculation error in measure : A date column containing duplicate dates was specified in the call to function 'LASTDATE'. This is not supported.

 

This doesn't make sense to me, since if there are two equal dates in a column, and we need the latest one, what's the problem with the duplication???

 

Anyway, how to solve the problem?

Hi,

You can try with below Dax.

I just treid with SalesTable but you can change to Inventory table (hoping there is relationship with product table).

LastDayqty =

Var Latestdate = CALCULATE(MAX(Sales[Order Date]))

Var result = CALCULATE(SUM(Sales[Quantity]),Sales[Order Date]=Latestdate)

Return result

@webportal , You should always use date table joined with you table's date(single directional) for time intelligence

Inventory = CALCULATE( MAX('Inventory'[Quantity]), LASTDATE('Date'[Date]))

I do have a calendar table, and when the "date" key is used within the LASTDATE, it all works well.
