Same issue here. I tried with a lot of different types of data and datasources, but always receive the same error message.

      Still the same error in May 2019 PBI Desktop update. Can MS provide any official answer?

        Agreed. For detail, my error is with version 2.67.5404.801 64-bit (March, 2019).
