Keep track of old data while updating

Hello all,

I am very new to Power Bi as well as for this group.

I have Power BI report which need to show the status of KPI. The data file (Xlsx) is extracting from system and its replace the values in every week. For example for last week file : Project status = Inprogress and this week Project status = Completed.

Assume that I need to show weekly project staus count, and also I dont have the project close date in my file, that files contained only status.

Any method that have experianced in? Highly appriciate your time on this, Thank you.

Hi @amilajay369 ,

As far as I know, Power BI is a read only application and it could only create visuals based on data model. So there should be data you need to help your calculation.

According to your statement, the data will be replaced every week. I think you need to keep all data you need instead of replacing. And then add date in your data source to determind the order of the data.

FX: Table should contain columns as [Date] /  [Status].

Best Regards,
Rico Zhou
