Issues with RANKX DAX function

Hi everyone,

We are using the following RANKX function to determine ranks of a measure (Sales £ vs LY)  by attributes of another table/dimension called Product in this case.

TopBrandRank = RANKX(ALLSELECTED('Product'), [Sales £ vs LY],,DESC) 

The above solution/DAX expression used to work (and still works on a couple of pages) but we have experienced issues with it on other pages. (All within one pbix file) As displayed and reproduced in the screenshot above, this function only seems to work intermittently.

We are using this DAX function to determine for example top ranked brands and display them on dashboards. The impact therefore is that if the function stops working and we are filtering on a top rank (i.e. TopBrandRank = 1) and the top rank is not populated, the visuals go blank. As this happens intermittently, we cannot foresee on which dashboard pages/visual it is going to happen and therefore makes some pages unusable.

Hi @CZech,

As this is an intermittently problem in your scenario, I was not able to reproduce it when using RANKX function in my report. Maybe you could try to re-create the measure and test again. Besides, you can update your desktop to latest version for a test.
