This has got me stumped: I have a text string that looks like a number but Value fails to convert it.
What am I missing?
Year% = var rd = FORMAT([Disp Promise Date],"0") return LEFT(rd,4)

Yes they are. You'll need to add in a trap statement to watch out for non numeric values and convert them to zero. There is a function called IsNumberic() that you can put into an IF statement to help you catch this.
