Issue with Q&A visual

Hi All,

I have a report that is connected to a semantic model using live connection. The dataset has XMLA enabled hence the development is being done using Tabular Editor. The data source for it is Synapse. 

Since it is a live connection I have enabled the Q&A option for this dataset in Power BI service 

Now when I try to pull in the Q&A visual into the report I get the below error

And none of the above scenarios are applicable for us.

Can anyone please help us with this issue ? Can there be any other reasons other than the above for this issue ?

Hi @PoojaReddy ,

In looking at this I found this mention "Interact with the Q&A Explorer window as you would with the Q&A window on a dashboard or in a report. Visuals created using the Q&A button are for exploration only; they can't be saved to the report or dashboard. And, the Q&A button is only available in Reading mode"

Your solution is great, @collinq  It worked like a charm! Here I have another idea in mind, and I would like to share it for reference. 

First, you need to enable Q&A in Power BI Service, as shown in the following figure:

How to Get Your Question Answered Quickly

If it does not help, please provide more details with your desired output and pbix file without privacy information (or some sample data) .
