Issue when updating settings to new dashboard on MS TEAMS

Please help!

I have uploaded a new dashboard to my workspace. This over rides a previous one with a different name.

In MS Teams, I would like to update my settings so that the Power BI tab links to the new dashboard, however i keep getting the following error message. Previously I have been able to just select the new dashboard from the selection and update but it does not seem to be working anymore.

I have clecked on the Manage Permissions link, but have had no luck in working it out!

Help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi @indyb

If you publish a report which has a different name from existing reports and datasets in the destination workspace, it will not override those reports. It will generate a new dataset and a new report with the same name as your original PBIX file. So please check the new report in your "My workspace" first.

Then in Microsoft Teams, you need to add a new tab for the new report. You can follow steps in this official document: Embed reports in Teams tabs. It is very simple. It does not support to edit the linking report of an existing tab.

Hope this helps.

Thank you so much for your reply.

So ultimately, if i have a report called "Report May 2022" which is linked to the MS Teams tab, it is not possible to update this tab and link it to "Report June 2022" which is in the same online workspace anymore?

It was possible to do this up till a month ago, hence my query..
