Issue Opening Power BI File

Hello,

I'm fairly new to Power BI and am learning the system to help my team at work with a new course we are offering. The course will ask participants to use Power BI. I'm having no issues uploading 3 Excel files onto the system, but can't locate a Power BI document that I've saved to my desktop to import it. A colleague of mine receives a message that we do not have the latest version of Power BI and this is what is causing the issue. Our IT is unable to resolve it. Any suggestions or workarounds? Thank you.

You can get the latest version here: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/desktop/.

"no issues uploading 3 Excel files onto the system", upload to Power BI Desktop ? Or Power BI Service?

If it still does not help, please provide more details with the issue and some sceenshots.
