Issue Facing in Data Modeling

Hello,

I am facing issue while creating relation, Power BI is creating Many to Many relation, while I have unique data (Product ID) in one table i.e Product table while other table is Sales table in which a product is present multiple times.

Furthermore I have checked the duplicate data in Product table through group function and no duplication found. please help me out whats going wrong in creating relation.

Hi @Anonymous ,

Sorry for that I could not reproduce your issue on my side:

My PBI is Version: 2.102.845.0 64-bit (February 2022), and I'd suggest you always use the latest one to test.

In addition, if possible, could you please share some dummy data to help us clarify your scenario?

Best Regards,
Eyelyn Qin

@Anonymous

Helo Eyelyn,

Thanks for your reply.

BI version I'm using "2.102.845.0 64-bit (February 2022)".

Issue still exist, for the time being I have checked the data in excel. Excel marked few product as duplicate so I removed that duplication. I wondered why this happened.

After this relation created.

I couldn't able to attach the file here as I dont have option to attach file, please share your email address so that I can share the data on one drive

@Anonymous, if Product IDs are unique and there is no blank/null value, you should be able to create a 1 to Many relationships

Please create a table visual with Product ID and Product ID count and sort count and check for duplicate

@amitchandak  Thanks for your suggestion.

I did what you suggest and found count 1 for each product. I am not getting why this happening, its very strange.

@amitchandak  One thing I found very interesting I checked my Product data in excel sheet for duplication and it found duplication as Product ID-1>>> 21F443* Product ID-2>>> 21F443

there is a difference of asterik(.) between the two Product IDs but excel is picking it as duplicate data. Please comment on it
