Is there a way to conditional format the main row of a matrix

So my main row I have as employee name and the values is weekly hours, and the columns are week start date. I want to conditional format employee name that is my I guess first column/ row column so that if they are W2 salaried it is green and anything else is blue. I do not have team class which is if they are W2 salaried, W2 hourly etc. it is a column in the main data, but it is not being reported as a value on this table. The best I did was to create a color table with the distinct team class and create a column with color that corresponds to this and link this table to my main table but I can pnly do this using a regular table and not a matrix like I want. See attached imagaes below.

This is not possible out of the box, however I have made a workaround some time ago, that maybe can work but not sure of your needs specifically because of the hierachy part.
