Hello,
Imagine that I have a table or a matrix with many fields (ex: 20 variables) and that the two first columns are EmployeeID and Name. I wonder if there is a way to freeze the two first columns into the table, so when you move the cursor to see the last fields, you still see the two first columns, so you are able to associate the content of the last column with a Name and an EmployeeID.
It is possible to do that in Power BI?
Thanks in advance for your Help

Did you set the stepped layout to "Off". Its under Row Headers.
Also you need to drilldown to the next level to see the Employee Name column.
Please see the attached screenshot. I have already drilled down to the lowest level. I can see Product ID and Product Name. These 2 columns are frozen.
Hope this helps !!

You should use the matrix visual. Use EmployeeID and Employee Name fields as rows.
Set the stepped layout to "Off".
Use rest of the variables as values.
You will see the first two fields (Employee ID and Employee Name) which are used as rows would be frozen. Only the variables used as values would scroll to the right.
Hope this helps !!
Thanks
It would be much better if we can use the table visual because it allows for in place sorting as opposed to a matrix visual you have to go through the elipse and if you've pivoted by a categorical field, it only sorts on the total for that field
Hello,
Thanks for your help. I get almost what I want. However, when I put EmployeeID and Name in rows, only EmployeeID is frozen. The Name variable does not appear.
Is it possible to correct this situation? I'd like to freeze both variables (EmployeeID and Name).
Thanks in advance for your Help

This works great, thank you!
But how do I keep my grand totals on the bottom? They seem to disappear when I expand down.
