I'm working on a hierarchical slicer that is structured like this:
>Category 1
>>Value 1
>>Value 2
>Category 2
>>Value 1
>>Value 2
I would like to add dynamic counts next to the values so that it looks like the following, where the counts represent the number of matching entities:
>Category 1
>>Value 1 (10)
>>Value 2 (5)
>Category 2
>>Value 1 (3)
>>Value 2 (6)
I'm able to get the initial counts from the table using the following measure:
Attr Val Count =
CALCULATE(DISTINCTCOUNT(my_table[entity_id]),ALLEXCEPT(my_table,my_table[attr_value]))
My issue is that the counts don't update when selections are made within the slicer. An example of my desired outcome:
If {Category 1: Value 1} is selected and there are no matching entities for {Category 2: Value 2}, display (0) next to {Category 2: Value 2}
Is this possible?
Not possible with standard visuals. slicer visuals are expecting physical columns. Those can be shown or not (ie filtered) but they cannot be modified.
Thanks...So it wouldn't be possible outside of a slicer either, like in a standard table visual?
You can implement it in any visuals that can use measures.
