Is it Possible to Display Comment a Visual
Hello Community,
Can someone let me know if its possible to add comments to a visual in both Desktop and/or Service?
For example, I would like to add a comment to a visual describing the what the visual represents and when someone hovers there mouse over the visual the comment would be appear - very similar to how you can add and display comments in Excel
So, if my colleague hovered there mouse over the visual below a description of the visual would appear.
Yes, this is possible, though Power BI does not show the comment when hovering the visual body itself. The closest equivalent is the Help tooltip icon on the visual header.
Select the visual, open the Format pane, go to the General tab, and expand Header icons > Icons. Turn on Help tooltip, set Type to Text, and paste your description. A small info icon will appear in the visual header in both Desktop and the Service, and your comment shows when the user hovers over it.
If you want richer content like images or multiple measures, switch the Type to Report page and point it at a tooltip page you build.
