Is there a way for intelligent number formatting using FORMAT() function.
Right now I'm using FORMAT(Number,"#,0") and this works fine if my number is below 1 million. but above that It should show like 1.00 M.
Anyway to change the FORMAT based on the number of digits.
and I have to use the format function as the number is part of a string.
Thanks in Advance.
Hi @Anonymous ,
By default number values on the visualizations can be set to auto values so if numbers are above thousand, millions and so on you will get that automatic values, so there is no need to use the format function.
Using the FORMAT formula this overwrittes all options in the visualization so you are no abble to have the automatic formatting so in this case you would need to make your formatting based on a switch formula something similar to:
FORMATTING =
SWITCH (
TRUE (),
[Number] < 1000000, FORMAT ( [Number], "#,0" ),
[Number] >= 1000000, FORMAT ( [Number], "#.00 M" )
)
