Incorrect Geocoding in Azure Maps for International Addresses in Power BI

Hello Community,

I am experiencing an issue with the Azure Maps visual in Power BI where the geocoding of international addresses is not accurate.  For example, the address "10, Hagavish st. P.B. 4060, Netanya, 42140, Israel" is incorrectly mapped to a location in the United States.

Here are the details of my setup:

  • The address field in my dataset is categorized as "Location."
  • I have tried providing the country separately and concatenated the full address into a single field, but the issue persists.
  • My data is clean and formatted correctly, with consistent use of address components such as Street Address, City, Postal Code, and Country.

Steps I have taken:

  1. Ensured that the data category for each address component is correctly set in Power BI.
  2. Tried concatenating the address fields into one string for better geocoding.
  3. Manually verified the addresses using online geocoding services to ensure accuracy.

Additionally, I have noticed that ArgesMap resolves these addresses more precisely, but unfortunately, I cannot use it due to license and security restrictions.

Despite these efforts, Azure Maps continues to provide incorrect locations for these addresses. This issue significantly impacts the accuracy of the data visualizations in my reports.

I would appreciate any guidance or solutions the community can offer to resolve this geocoding issue in Power BI's Azure Maps visual.
