Dear all,
I have frequent problems when trying to import larger data sets from an SAP data base with Power BI.
I get this message:
DataSource.Error: ODBC: ERROR [S1000] [SAP AG][LIBODBCHDB DLL][HDBODBC] General error;4 cannot allocate enough memory: search table error: cannot allocate enough memory: search table error: [9] Memory allocation failed;exception 1000002: Allocation failed ; $size$=13989360832; $name$=Results; $type$=pool; $inuse_count$=35; $allocated_size$=224266949696; $alignment$=8; $failure_type$=STATEMENT_MEMORY_LIMIT
Does anyone have an idea how to handle that?

Getting the error bcz there is millions of data at the Hana data base, how can we bring that data to powerbi
Hi @powerEDCE ,
It seems related to the memory requirements, generally, to satisfied the memory requirements you should double the amount of data. That means I would provision a server with 128 GB if I have the 64GB instance.
You can refer to the blog about sizing HANA databases: https://blogs.sap.com/2017/03/07/the-ultimate-guide-to-effective-sizing-of-sap-hana/
Also, here’s another case similar with yours for your reference: https://answers.sap.com/questions/11364223/sap-dbtech-jdbc-4-cannot-allocate-enough-memory-ou.html
Tips for avoid the error: https://blogs.sap.com/2014/01/05/6-tips-to-avoid-hana-out-of-memory-oom-errors/
And you could test "Get data" -> "SAP HAHA database" -> Type your server name -> open "Advance options" and type SQL statements to filter data.
