Import data report refresh problem

Hello,

I’ve got a report that is importing data from SQL tables.
2 tables that both have a date column and some value columns.

So I’ve created a hard coded date table. And made a relationship to both existing tables.

I’ve a (visual) table where all 3 tables come together.
Date - value from table 1 - value from table 2 - etc.

All is working fine on desktop. But when I upload the report and the dataset it won’t refresh all data when I trigger the dataset refresh action on the power bi website.

I read about it on this website already and got a suggestion to download the June update instead of the latest one. Not really a great suggestion and I can’t find the June download file anyways.

Anyone knows how to fix this ? Please let me know.

Hi @Alberthoekstra

You will need to install a gateway and then configure schedule refresh for the dataset.

Reference:

Tutorial: Connect to on-premises data in SQL Server

schedule refresh

install gateway

manage gateway

manage data source-sql

on-premises gateway

Best regards

Hi Maggie,

I've done all that.

The schedule refresh is working, but the value's / data is incomplete.

When I refresh in Desktop application my total value is 2 million.

When the schedule refresh ran, the total value is 500.000...

Hi @Alberthoekstra

Please check the link below to know more about the issue.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-gateway-onprem-tshoot

Data limit here is not related to model size. It is related to how much data is being transferred during refresh. There is a 10 GB limit on that. Users model can be 488 MB but if he is downloading more than 10 GB during refresh it will fail. Please provide RAID's if you want us to investigate new refresh failures. There is no data download limits in PBI desktop so it will be successful over there. For more information please see.

Best Regards

Maggie

Hi Maggie,

There's no way the data that will be transferred is > 10 GB.

The whole database isn't even 10GB in total.

Is there any log I can check to see what the scheduled refresh is doing?

I've found the feature to export the logs from the gateway.

Is it okay to share the logs here?

Is fixed in latest version.
