Hi,
In our business, we import Bloomberg data in form of .out files daily.
In Excel, it was easy, using VBA file dialog. Since the headers are not separated by delimiters and only data have delimiters, in Excel, I import it from the row where data starts, to a pre-labeled header worksheet.
Is it possible to do something similiar to this in Power BI?
TIA
Hi,
I am able to use delimiter before loading the data and not after. Once I load data, remove rows, I do not see the option to select delimiter.
Alos, how do I automate this in Power Query?
Try to import data as Text/CSV > Transform Data > Try to locate the row where the data starts and remove all the rows above it.
You can proceed with renaming the column headers as needed, and apply any necessary data transformations.
Specify the delimiter by selecting "Use Custom Delimiter" in the Text/CSV dialog box.
If you want to automate the data import process, you can create a Power Query function for that
By mistake I replied this to my own question. It should've been a reply to Message 2!
