Ignore Filters and always show last 12 months in graph month by month

Hi all, I have some CRM communications I want to show the number added month by month for 12 months. This graph needs to ignore any filters (specifically date filters) from the page or any other pages as there is often a month or fiscal year filter set. In the image below on the left you can see the communications added month by month for the current fiscal year which we are 3 months into hence only 3 months showing. I created a DAX to calculate the total number entered for the last 12 months which calculates correctly in the right graph as 1094 however when I add the month month name/year column in from the calendar table the value is the same total for all 12 months. How do I get this to show the correct value for each of the 12 months? I realise I could do a DAX for each previous month however this could be 12 measures and will get messy as I also need to do the same thing for many other areas such as quotes, sales orders, accounts addded etc etc so would end up with way to many measures.
