Hello All,
I am using my student free account registered the PowerBI desktop. Just found out that there is no option"Excel Workbook Contents" in File - Import. Please see the screenshot below:
However, one of the Youtube teaching channels shows a different layout( which is what I want) :
Does that because I use the free student account?
I would like to import my data model from Excel to Power BI, but what I have currently can not show the data model tables in the excel pivot table.
Any suggestions and ideas? thank you
@Anonymous , Desktop edition has the same options. This seems pretty strange. Create a new file and check the option. If you have chosen a live source in the file or used pbix as the source , it might not allow other sources.

Appreciate your Kudos.
@Anonymous
Use the last option: Power Query Power Pivot Power View
Power BI Desktop is free, and standard. With the latest version, the names have changed.
Cheers!
