I need help with a dax formula that will assign a single value to each day.

Hello,

I need to use a dax formula to assign a single value to each date. My issue is that each date has multiple line items for each date so I am getting artificially large numbers. The report is meant to look at each days total production capacity and subtract the volume needed to meet sales for the date range. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

@Anonymous Sorry, having trouble following, can you post sample data as text and expected output?
Not really enough information to go on, please first check if your issue is a common issue listed here: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Community-Blog/Before-You-Post-Read-This/ba-p/1116882

Also, please see this post regarding How to Get Your Question Answered Quickly: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Community-Blog/How-to-Get-Your-Question-Answered-Quickly/ba-p/38490

The most important parts are:
1. Sample data as text, use the table tool in the editing bar
2. Expected output from sample data
3. Explanation in words of how to get from 1. to 2.

Hey Greg,

Thank you for getting back to me! I didn't see my specific issue in the common issues post. I am new to this so it could be there is a post that could help me find my solution. If that's the case please let me know.

Please find the sample data below.

Basically the maximum output of this machine is 4464 per day. I am needing to subtract the total needs for any one date from the maximum output. The way in which I tried to add this is giving me a total for each row which gives me problems when dealing with dates that have multiple orders set to be packed.

Thank you!
