I can't find Composite Models

When I try to run a direct query and/or edit one.

I see this message:

'this query contains transformations that can't be used for directquery'

I am reading online and it says that the solotion is to deactivate Composite Models.

I do not see Composite Models as an option. Please take a look at my screeen shot.

What should i do?Capture.PNG

Hi @FreddieTheCat

First check your version of Power BI Desktop, if it is old, please update to the lastest one.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/desktop-latest-update

Then it is import to know that:

using direct query you can not create conditional columns in query editor but instead you can create a new column and write your condition there.

If this is not your pronlem, please click each steps on the "applied steps" pane to check which step leads this problem.

Here is a similar thread which has solutions:

https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/Direct-Query-Transformation-error/td-p/363775

Also, please check the limitations in the data transformations that can be applied within Query Editor with direct query

Best Regards

Maggie

Hi @FreddieTheCat

Do you use the lastest version?

Composite Models is supported in Power BI currently.

It is no longer a preview feature. It doesn't need to turn on any option to use it.

Best Regards
