I resolved the issue by changing the measure in tabular.

I am also experiencing this issue. I have a measure, which is text, but when I try to use it to filter a visual I can't select anything from the dropdown or actually edit the filter options to make it do anything. Did anyone ever figure out how to identify the problem?

Eagle77,

Please explain what you mean. I seem to have the same issue, but don't know how to apply your solution.

Thanks.

Running into the same problem, 1.5 year later. Did you manage to figure it out yourself and can you please guide me?

Hi @Anonymous

When i add a measure into a card or a gauge chart, it can't change the "visual level filter" as you meet.

It is a known limitation currently.

Check the format of the column or measure you are keeping in the filter. Only "Text" formats have thos options.

Thank you for the hint. My measure was True/False (ISCROSSFILTERED) which did not let it be filtered. Wrapping it in an IF statement made it filterable. It is a weird limitation.

Thank you @luapdoniv  .

The system I'm working with is based on facts and dimensions views on SQL server and tabulars in Visual studio which reading data from them. My reports are connected to the tabular models. In report I don't have those options you showed:

One thing more that I noticed, I have two tables in my report. In one of the tables I can change the condition and define it but not in the other table in the same report and same page.'Total' is a measure:

You are on PBI desktop right? Please provide full screenshot including the visual you are on and the fileds and visualization panes. Mask any data which is confidential.

Nothing much I can make out from that. Is this Total, you are keeping on the visual filter a measure or a column. Either case, what is the format of it. Text or Number?

Please share your screenshot with the visual you are trying to put up.
