For a long time the date slicer has annoyed my users who want to type in a date. The only way we'd found to allow entry of dates was to press escape when the calendar appeared then backspace to remove the old date and start typing.
I was working with a brand new Power BI Desktop (June 2023 update) project and found that when I added a date slicer it allowed me to type and had an icon to bring up the calendar. That's EXACTLY how my users want the date slicer to work. I just can't figure out how to get the new format date slicer in my existing projects. If I delete a date slicer visual and re-add it in an existing project it still uses the old format. If I create a new project and copy/paste the old style date slicer from a different project, it changes it to the new format.
Is there a way to update the deafult slicers in an older Power BI project to use the newer format? I'd really rather not have to start with a blank project then copy/paste every single table and visual just to get the newer versions.
Thanks!
Exactly my problem, sad there is no answer...it's super annoying I have 1 project with the calendar icon where you can write the date and another without the icon and without the possibility to write unless you press ESC.. i don't know what to say to my users, it's embarrassing
